Frequently Asked Questions

Does Skinllergic Cam send my data to the cloud?+
Your personal allergen profile syncs across your own Apple devices via iCloud (encrypted by Apple). The developer cannot read it. Ingredient OCR and AI explanations run entirely on-device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Why isn't Apple Intelligence showing the AI explanations?+
Apple Intelligence requires iOS 26+ on a supported device (iPhone 15 Pro or later). If you're on an older device or older iOS, the rest of the app works normally — only the AI plain-language explanations are unavailable.
I deleted the app and reinstalled. Will my allergens come back?+
Yes. Sign in with the same Apple ID and your iCloud-synced data (family members, allergens, products, scans) will restore automatically.
I switched to a new iPhone. Will my data follow?+
Yes. Sign in with Apple on the new device and iCloud will sync everything within a few minutes.
Which languages does the OCR support?+
English, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. You can pick which languages to enable in Settings → OCR Languages.
How many family members can I add?+
Up to five — typically enough for a household. The "me" profile is created automatically.
Can I export my allergen list?+
Allergen lists can be exported and imported through the Allergen List tab. Useful for sharing with doctors or backing up before changes.
Is the app really free? What's the catch?+
Yes, free. No in-app purchases, no ads, no third-party trackers. The app is built and maintained by a solo developer who wanted a tool that worked for his own kids.
I found a wrong ingredient match / bug — how do I report it?+
Email ccccaiwork@gmail.com with a screenshot or short description. Specific is better — "product X says ingredient Y is risky but Y is the salt form, not the parent compound" is more helpful than "the matching is wrong".
Can I request a feature?+
Yes — email is best. The roadmap is set by what feels useful for families with sensitive skin, so anecdotes about your situation help calibrate priorities.
