Skinllergic Cam is built around a simple principle: your allergen data is yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app handles, where it lives, and what we (the developer) can or cannot see.

Summary

  • Ingredient recognition (OCR) runs on your device. Photos and ingredient text never leave the device.
  • AI ingredient explanations use Apple Intelligence on-device. No cloud AI is involved.
  • Your personal allergen profile (family members, allergens, scanned products, scan history) is stored in your private iCloud container — encrypted by Apple. The developer cannot read it.
  • No third-party analytics, no ad SDKs, no trackers.
  • The app does not operate any user account server.

1. Data the app handles

On-device only: photos you take to scan ingredients, recognized text from those photos, AI-generated ingredient explanations, OCR language preferences. None of this is uploaded to any server — including ours.

iCloud private container: family member profiles, allergen list, saved products, scan history, app settings. This data syncs across your own Apple devices through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. Apple holds the encryption keys; we have no access.

2. What the developer can see

We cannot see your scanned photos, recognized ingredients, family member names, allergens, products, or scan history. All of these live either on your device or in your iCloud private container.

We can see aggregate App Store metrics (downloads, country, version) provided by Apple to all developers. These are not linked to individual users.

3. Third-party services

Apple iCloud / CloudKit: stores your personal allergen data in a private container encrypted by Apple.

Supabase (one-time migration only): if you are upgrading from v1.0, the app reads your previously stored data from Supabase once and writes it to your device and iCloud. After migration completes, the app no longer communicates with Supabase. No data created in v2.0 or later is sent to Supabase.

There are no other third-party services. No Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Crashlytics, no Sentry, no Facebook SDK, no advertising SDKs.

4. Children

Skinllergic Cam is designed to help parents track allergens for their children. The parent operates the app on their own device with their own Apple ID; the child does not interact with the app directly. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

5. Your rights

You can delete all of your data at any time by removing the app from your device. To also clear your iCloud-synced data, go to Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Skinllergic Cam → Delete Data.

6. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
